Reutersgate photo manipulation scandal broadens

Hajj's 900 photos pulled by Reuters for manipulation of the image seems to be just the tip of the iceberg. The article below details other instances of photos more manufactured than simply taken and then quality adjusted in terms of contrast, brightness and sharpness.

I haven't seen the procedures that newspapers use to check for manipulation. Nor the ground rules that are given to photographers, staffers and freelance, as to what the newspapers have decided is within the limits of adjustment for image quality and what lies out in the realm of manipulative fiction.
