Having been putting a camera up to my eye or my eyeglasses since the 60s I now spend time looking around on the web to find photography and photographic information that delights my appetite for the result of careful viewing of the planet and its inhabitants. And man, is that a load of fun. Selected Tag: america["Choice Photography " Home Page] Blake J. Nolan, Tempe Arizona, USAI came across Nolan on photoaday (http://photoaday.wordpress.com/) an interesting blog where you can send a photo in for consideration to be posted on that blog.
....his subject range appears to be very wide: people (very good at these), macro, urban, travel, architecture, pure graphic design elements captured by camera. All very fine work. He is 25 years old. The link below will bring you to his myspace page... Link: myspace.com American Photo - good online sourcePhotographicus magazinus worthwhilus.
It is odd for me to think back that I happened by chance quite a few years ago to buy the premier issue of American Photographer, as it was called when it started out. It has always had an interesting mix of information, product stuff, photographers and ideas about the consumer and professional business of photography. Always a nice stylish look to this mag. I currently have a subscription for the paper bound version. Usually a very good read. American Photo is highly recommended. They have an online version, see the link below. It is a very moving story. Beautifully constructed site.
(A high speed internet connection is probably a necessity for viewing) Link: inheritanceproject-2.com An expert in finding old cameras and developing the old film found inside themGene M has been buying old cameras for several years and often finds unfinished rolls of film inside. He has mastered the art and science of using current film chemistry to develop old film. But more importantly he opens these "time capsules" and we are then able to see the past.
here is a recent page showing an old Brownie camera that used the old 620 film format http://westfordcomp.com/classics/brownieflash620/june06/index.htm The link below is the main photographic page for the site. Click on Films Found in Old Cameras and marvel at what Gene has accomplished in his photographic archaeology. Link: westfordcomp.com
